Summary of activities and current interests

Carmen Santoro received her Laurea Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa (Italy) and since 1997 she has been working at C.N.R. in Pisa in the ISTI Institute, where she is a researcher in the Human Interfaces in Information Systems Laboratory. In 2004 she received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toulouse 1 (France), with a thesis on ”Modelbased design of innovative interactive systems” published in a book. During the last years she has worked on methods and tools for the analysis, design and development of interactive applications, and methods and tools for automatic support for usability evaluation. Her current research interests also include methods and tools for multi-modal and multi-platform user interface design and evaluation. She has published papers in international conferences and journals on human-computer interaction; she has been member of the Programme Committee of international HCI conferences like INTERACT and Mobile HCI, and reviewer for several international HCI conferences, journals and books. She was the Organizational Overviews Co-Chair of INTERACT 2005 Conference, Workshop and Tutorial Chair of Mobile HCI 2002 and between 2002-2004 she was the Secretary of Italian Association on Human-Computer Interaction (ACM SIGCHI Italy).
